✨ A Summer in Italy: Why Staying Closer Might Be the Best Travel Decision 


This Year Summer holidays are just around the corner, and many people are starting to wonder: how much more expensive will travel become this year, especially with rising fuel costs? ⛽💸 

One simple alternative is to stay closer to home. And the truth is — there are still incredible destinations nearby that offer everything you’re looking for in a holiday. 🌍 One of my personal favorites? Italy.

Italy is one of those destinations that always delivers. It combines culture, history, and a warmth in its people that makes you feel welcome from the very first moment. ❤️ It’s the kind of place that leaves you with one feeling: you want to come back. We’ve visited Lake Garda a couple of times during the summer, and it’s always been a great choice. 🌊 It’s beautiful, relaxed, and perfect for families. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 In the evenings, you can take a walk along the lakeside promenade, enjoy the atmosphere, and simply slow down. 

🌅 There are plenty of accommodation options, from hotels to apartments.

🏨 We personally stayed in a town called Bardolino, but there are many other great areas around the lake. 

Let’s be honest… Lake Garda is not the Mexican Caribbean. The water is relatively cold. 🥶 But that’s not the point. It’s an excellent alternative for those who don’t want to travel too far, but still want a proper holiday experience. ✈️ 

If it’s your first time in Italy, chances are you’ll want to visit Venice. 🚤 There are organized tours from Lake Garda, and yes — it will be a long day. ⏳ But honestly? Venice is worth it. Every single time. ✨ The streets, the bridges, the history, the atmosphere… it’s unlike anywhere else in the world. One important tip: wear comfortable shoes — you’ll walk more than you expect. 👟 If you’re traveling with small children, a baby carrier might be easier than a stroller, although we’ve done it with a stroller and it was still manageable. 👶

The Lake Garda area offers a wide range of activities for both kids and adults. 🎢 It’s a destination where you can truly relax while still having plenty to do. And let’s talk about food. 🍝 Italy is not just pizza and pasta. There is so much more to discover. One of our favorite little moments? Watching our kids enjoy a Cioccolata Calda (hot chocolate) while we take a break with a good coffee. ☕🍫 Simple things — but those are the memories that stay.
